Dell part 0RWR8F is a 2.4TB 10,000 rpm SAS hard drive on a 12Gb/s interface in the 2.5 inch small form factor, the largest capacity Dell offers at 10K and the standard performance drive of 14th generation PowerEdge servers. It is hot-pluggable in PowerEdge SFF bays and recognised by PERC controllers as a Dell drive, keeping iDRAC's monitoring and predictive failure alerts active. It is refurbished and sold bare. Buyers in Qatar fit 0RWR8F to R640, R740 and T440 class servers for virtual machine datastores and file storage, eight of them in RAID 10 giving nearly 10TB of 10K storage, and use it to match Dell drives in an existing array. Installation
Fit the drive into a Dell 14th generation 2.5 inch caddy, not included, and hot-plug it; the PERC recognises the Dell part and rebuilds a degraded virtual disk automatically, or the drive is assigned as a spare or a new member in iDRAC. Match part numbers across an array where possible. A rebuild of a 2.4TB member should be left to complete under light load.
