Hardware Support
Same-day on-site hardware support in Doha, with spare parts held locally, including cover for servers the manufacturer has stopped supporting.
When the manufacturer stops, we don't
Dell and HPE eventually end support for hardware that is still running perfectly well. A PowerEdge R630 or ProLiant DL380 Gen9 doing its job every day suddenly has no vendor behind it, and the options narrow to replacing working equipment or hoping nothing fails.
We support that hardware because we stock it. The same platforms we sell, refurbish and install are the ones we hold parts for: drives, memory, power supplies, controllers, fans and boards, on shelves in Doha rather than on a lead time from overseas. When a part is a thirty-minute drive away instead of a week away, the conversation about an ageing server changes completely.
Support plans
No commitment. For one-off faults or hardware you rarely need to touch.
Quoted per call- On-site diagnosis and repair
- Parts charged separately at quotation
- Scheduled around our existing commitments
- Remote diagnosis by iDRAC or iLO where possible first
Annual cover per device. For production hardware that needs a dependable answer rather than a favour.
Annual, per device- Same-day on-site in Doha, Sunday to Thursday
- Replacement parts included from our stock
- Unlimited remote diagnosis and firmware support
- Next business day elsewhere in Qatar
- Annual health check and firmware review
Extended hours with a cold spare reserved against your exact configuration.
Annual, per device- Everything in Business hours
- Cold spare held in Doha for your hardware
- Extended-hours and weekend response
- Priority over scheduled work
- Named contact reachable on WhatsApp
The cold spare is the part worth reading twice
On the Critical plan we hold a matching unit, or the critical modules from one, reserved against your configuration and nobody else's. A failed controller, board or power supply is swapped from a part we already confirmed works with your machine, not sourced after the fault. For end-of-life hardware where parts are getting scarce, this is the difference between hours of downtime and weeks of it.
What's covered
On-site part replacement
Drives, memory, power supplies, fans, controllers, boards and backplanes, replaced on site from stock held in Doha.
Remote diagnosis
We work through iDRAC, iLO or IMM before travelling. A good number of faults are identified, and some resolved, without anyone leaving the office.
Firmware & BIOS
Firmware remediation where a fault traces to a known issue, plus BIOS and controller updates applied in a planned window rather than a panic.
RAID & storage recovery
Degraded array rebuild, failed drive replacement, hot-spare reconfiguration and controller replacement with configuration preserved.
Cold spare management
On the Critical plan, a spare unit or module reserved and periodically tested against your configuration.
End-of-life hardware
Platforms the manufacturer no longer covers are exactly what we hold parts for. Age is not a reason for us to decline.
How a call runs
Most faults are diagnosed before anyone gets in a car. What follows is the sequence a contract call actually takes, from the first message to the written record.
-
You report the fault
WhatsApp is fastest. Send the service tag or serial, the symptom, and any iDRAC or iLO alert. Contract customers have a named contact.
-
Remote diagnosis first
We check management logs and controller status remotely. If it can be fixed without a visit, it usually is, often within the hour.
-
Part confirmed against stock
We verify the exact replacement is on the shelf before committing to a time, so the visit does not become two visits.
-
On-site repair
Same day within Doha for contract customers, next business day elsewhere in Qatar. Out-of-hours by arrangement on the Critical plan.
-
Verified and recorded
Post-repair testing, array rebuild confirmed healthy, and a written note of what failed, what replaced it, and its serial.
Hardware we support
The same platforms we stock and install, which is why we can hold parts for them:
- Dell PowerEdge: R630, R640, R650, R730, R740, R750, T440
- HPE ProLiant: DL360, DL380, DL160, ML350 (Gen8 to Gen10)
- IBM & Lenovo System x
- Cisco UCS
- Dell EMC and HPE storage, NAS and disk shelves
- Cisco, Fortinet and Palo Alto switching, routing and firewalls
- Dell Precision and HP Z-series workstations
Hardware bought elsewhere is covered on the same terms. We will tell you at assessment if a unit is too rare or too far gone to support honestly.
What we don't do
This is hardware support. The boundaries are worth stating plainly:
- Operating system, hypervisor and application administration. We get the hardware healthy; your team or your MSP handles what runs on it
- Data recovery guarantees. We replace failed drives and rebuild arrays, but a rebuild is not a backup and we will not pretend otherwise
- Software licensing, subscriptions and vendor support contracts
- Network design, security auditing and monitoring services
- Structured cabling. We patch into cabling that is already in place
On backups
Support cover is not a backup strategy. If a RAID array fails during rebuild, hardware support cannot recover data that was never backed up. If you are not sure where you stand, ask us at assessment. We would rather say so early than after the fact.
Get covered
Send a list of the hardware you want covered, with models and service tags if you have them, and we will come back with a plan and a price. Existing ServerDove customers can be quoted from purchase records.

Already down? Send the service tag and the symptom on WhatsApp. We triage faults from non-contract customers too, and quote before doing anything chargeable.
