DDR4 ECC server memory from Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron and Nanya, in registered RDIMM and load-reduced LRDIMM modules from DDR4-2133 to DDR4-3200, tested and stocked in Doha.
ServerDove's server memory range is DDR4 with ECC error correction: registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) in capacities from small modules up to 64GB, and load-reduced DIMMs (LRDIMMs) for high-capacity builds. Speeds run from DDR4-2133 to DDR4-3200, and modules come from memory makers including Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron and Nanya.
It is for anyone adding capacity to a DDR4 server or workstation, replacing a failed module, or populating a barebone build. Every module is ECC, the standard for servers. Refurbished modules are tested before listing.
| Module label | PC4 name | Data rate |
|---|---|---|
| DDR4-2133 | PC4-17000 | 2133 MT/s |
| DDR4-2400 | PC4-19200 | 2400 MT/s |
| DDR4-2666 | PC4-21300 | 2666 MT/s |
| DDR4-2933 | PC4-23400 | 2933 MT/s |
| DDR4-3200 | PC4-25600 | 3200 MT/s |
The speed on the label is a maximum. Memory runs at the lowest of three limits: the module rating, what the processor supports, and what the server allows for the number of modules in each channel. A DDR4-3200 module in a system limited to 2666 MT/s simply runs at 2666.
Memory is held in Doha, with delivery across Qatar typically one day. Send the server model or service tag and the capacity you need, and the team will suggest a module size and layout that keeps every channel balanced. The processor sets the memory speed ceiling, so an upgrade is sometimes worth planning together with Processors. Memory is covered by the ServerDove warranty, and bulk quotations are available for business customers. For the rest of the upgrade path, see Components.
Both are registered server memory with ECC. An RDIMM buffers the command and address signals, while an LRDIMM also buffers the data lines, which lowers the electrical load on the memory channel and allows larger modules and higher total capacity. LRDIMMs suit servers that need very large amounts of memory. The two types cannot be mixed in the same server.
Yes, but every module will run at the speed of the slowest one, or lower if the processor or the number of modules per channel sets a lower limit. Mixing speeds does no damage, it just wastes the extra speed you paid for. For a new build or a large upgrade, identical modules give the most predictable result.
Usually, as long as the modules match in type, generation, speed, rank and capacity. Servers read each module's settings and run them together. Identical modules within each channel remain the safest choice, especially in systems that are sensitive to memory configuration. If you are adding to existing memory, send the part number printed on a current module so the team can match it.
Servers that use registered memory require ECC modules, and most dual-socket rack and tower servers are built this way; some entry-level servers use unbuffered ECC instead. ECC detects and corrects single-bit memory errors on the fly and reports larger ones, which stops silent data corruption and lets the server log a failing module before it causes a crash. That protection is the main reason servers use it.
Send ServerDove the server model, or the Dell service tag or HPE serial number, with the capacity you want. The team will check the memory type, the highest speed your processors support, and the population rules for your system, then recommend a module size and layout. If memory is already installed, a photo of a module label helps.
The memory held in Doha is DDR4, which covers most servers and workstations from the last several hardware generations. DDR3 for older servers and DDR5 for current platforms can be quoted on request. Send the server model and the capacity you need by WhatsApp on +974 5521 2108 or by email to sales@serverdove.com.
