DDR4 vs DDR5 Server Memory: Which Should You Buy in 2026?
DDR5 doubles bandwidth and capacity per module and is the only option on every current platform. DDR4 is...
Power for the rack: hot-plug power supplies for Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant and Dell Precision systems in stock, with UPS systems and rack PDUs sourced to order. Held in Doha for delivery across Qatar.
Power & UPS brings together everything that feeds electricity to a server rack: the hot-plug and internal power supplies that go inside Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant and Dell Precision machines, the uninterruptible power supply that keeps the rack running through a mains failure, and the power distribution unit that spreads one feed across every outlet in the cabinet.
Power supplies are stocked in Doha. UPS systems and rack PDUs are sourced to order, sized to the equipment going into the rack, so this page explains how the three fit together and what the team needs in order to quote.
| Part | What it does | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Power supply | Converts mains to the voltages the server uses. Two per server for redundancy. | Server power supplies |
| UPS | Battery-backed supply that bridges short outages and gives servers time to shut down cleanly in a long one. | UPS systems |
| PDU | Rack-mounted power strip, basic or metered or switched, that distributes a feed to the equipment outlets. | Rack PDUs |
In a typical cabinet the mains feeds the UPS, the UPS feeds one or two PDUs, and each server's two power supplies plug into different PDUs. That way a failed supply, a tripped PDU or a short mains outage does not take the server down.
Stocked items ship from Doha with delivery across Qatar typically one day, and all are covered by the ServerDove warranty. For a UPS or PDU, or a complete rack build with a cabinet and rails, send the requirement by WhatsApp on +974 5521 2108, email sales@serverdove.com or use the contact page. The team can also install and cable the rack as a service.
The power supply is inside the server and turns mains electricity into the low voltages the components use. A UPS sits between the mains and the rack and keeps power flowing from its battery when the mains fails. A PDU is the rack's power strip, taking one feed from the wall or the UPS and distributing it to the outlets the equipment plugs into.
If the server holds anything you would miss, yes. A sudden power loss can corrupt files and databases, and the restart is often the moment an ageing drive fails. Even a small UPS gives the server time to shut down properly, and most can signal the server to do so automatically.
Servers with two power supplies keep running on either one. If both are plugged into the same PDU, a fault on that PDU or its feed takes the server down regardless. Two PDUs on two feeds, ideally one through the UPS and one direct or on a second UPS, is what the redundant supplies are for.
Hot-plug units for Dell PowerEdge 13th and 14th generation servers and for HPE ProLiant Common Slot and Flex Slot bays, and internal supplies for Dell Precision T5820, T7820 and T7910 workstations, from 460 W to 1300 W. The full list is in server power supplies.
They are sourced to order, so lead time depends on the model. Send the equipment list and the team will quote a unit and a delivery date together. Power supplies in stock are delivered across Qatar typically within a day.
Yes. Send the requirement by WhatsApp on +974 5521 2108, email sales@serverdove.com or use the contact page. Include the servers, storage and network equipment going into the rack, and the team will work out the load, propose the UPS and PDUs, and quote the lot.
