Fortinet FortiGate desktop firewalls for small offices, shops and branch sites, held in Doha and delivered across Qatar. Newer F-series and earlier E-series models, all running FortiOS.

This range covers entry-level Fortinet FortiGate desktop firewalls from the F-series and the earlier E-series. Each runs FortiOS and combines firewall, routing, VPN, web filtering and intrusion prevention in one small appliance that sits on a desk or shelf.

They suit small offices, clinics, retail sites and branches that need a proper security perimeter without a server rack, and integrators rolling out the same FortiGate configuration across several sites in Qatar. Models differ mainly in throughput and port count, so the right one depends on your line speed and the number of people on site.

F-series or E-series

The letter at the end of a FortiGate model marks its generation, and F is later than E. Within a generation, a higher model number usually means more throughput and more ports.

  • F-series: the newer platform, usually with faster security processing and a longer remaining support life.
  • E-series: an earlier generation that still suits a small site with modest traffic. Check which FortiOS versions and support Fortinet currently offers for the exact model before planning years of use.

FortiGuard and FortiCare

Intrusion prevention, antivirus, web filtering and Fortinet support come through FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions registered to the unit's serial number. The base firewall and routing work without them, but signature-based protection stops updating. Subscription bundles, terms and the registration of a previously owned unit are set by Fortinet, so confirm them with Fortinet or its partner before ordering.
