Intel Xeon processors for servers and workstations, from E5-2600 v2, v3 and v4 through first, second and third generation Xeon Scalable and Xeon W, tested and held in stock in Doha.
ServerDove stocks Intel Xeon processors for rack servers, tower servers and workstations. The range runs from the E5-2600 v2, v3 and v4 families on LGA2011 and LGA2011-3, through Xeon Silver, Gold and Platinum Scalable processors on LGA3647 and LGA4189, to the single-socket Xeon W on LGA2066.
It suits buyers adding a second processor, replacing a failed one, or moving a server to more cores or a higher clock speed. It also serves integrators matching processors to a barebone build. Refurbished processors are tested before they are listed.
For Xeon Scalable, the second digit of the model number gives the generation: a Gold 6138 is first generation, a Gold 6230 second and a Silver 4310 third.
| Family | Socket | Memory | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xeon E5-2600 and v2 | LGA2011 | DDR3 | Older dual-socket platforms |
| Xeon E5-2600 v3 and v4 | LGA2011-3 | DDR4 | v4 often needs a newer BIOS in a platform launched with v3 |
| Xeon Scalable, 1st and 2nd gen | LGA3647 | DDR4, six channels per socket | 2nd gen often needs a BIOS update in a platform launched with 1st gen |
| Xeon Scalable, 3rd gen | LGA4189 | DDR4, eight channels per socket | A different platform from LGA3647 |
| Xeon W-2100 | LGA2066 | DDR4 | Single-socket workstations |
Send the server model or service tag and the team will confirm which processors your system takes.
Processors are held in Doha and typically reach customers across Qatar in one day. Heatsinks and fan kits for second-processor upgrades are in Other Components and the wider Parts & Accessories range. Every processor is covered by the ServerDove warranty. Fitting and base configuration can be done for you as a service, and business customers can request a quotation for bulk orders.
Three things decide it: the socket, the processor generations the motherboard supports, and the BIOS version installed. The quickest route is to send ServerDove the server model, or the Dell service tag or HPE serial number. The team will confirm which processors your system takes and whether a BIOS update is needed before the new processor is fitted.
Both generations use the LGA3647 socket, and many platforms launched with first-generation processors accept second-generation ones after a BIOS update. It is not universal, so confirm with the server model first. Update the BIOS while the old processor is still fitted, and replace both processors in a dual-socket server so they match.
Yes. Dual-socket servers need two processors of the same model. Mixing models, core counts or generations is not supported and the server will normally refuse to start or report an error. If you are adding a second processor, match the one already installed, or replace both with a new matched pair.
They are tiers within the Xeon Scalable family. Silver is the entry mainstream tier for two-socket servers, with lower clock speeds and slower maximum memory speed. Gold adds more cores, higher clocks and faster memory support. Platinum sits at the top, with the highest core counts and support for larger multi-socket systems. The right tier depends on the workload and licensing model.
The processors currently held in Doha are Intel Xeon. AMD EPYC processors can be quoted on request. EPYC uses its own sockets and platforms, so an EPYC processor only fits a server designed for it. Send the server model and the processor you are after by WhatsApp on +974 5521 2108 or by email to sales@serverdove.com.
When adding a second processor, yes: each processor needs its own heatsink, and some servers also need an extra fan or a different air shroud for the second socket. Some chassis use a larger heatsink for higher-wattage processors. When replacing a processor like-for-like, the existing heatsink is reused with fresh thermal paste.
