Samsung M393A4K40DB3-CWE 32GB DDR4-3200 ECC registered DIMM, dual rank 2Rx4, for Intel Xeon Scalable and AMD EPYC servers.
The Samsung M393A4K40DB3-CWE is a 32GB DDR4 registered ECC DIMM rated PC4-3200AA, which means 3200MT/s at CL22 and 1.2V. It is a dual-rank module with x4 DRAM organisation (2Rx4) on a standard 288-pin PCB, and the full code printed on the module label is M393A4K40DB3-CWEGY. Samsung makes both the DRAM and the finished module, and its RDIMMs are fitted widely in Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant servers, so this part number is a common match when expanding an existing system. It runs at full rated speed on 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable and AMD EPYC 7002/7003 platforms, and at the processor's maximum on older DDR4 generations. IT teams in Doha and elsewhere in Qatar buy this refurbished module to add capacity to virtualisation and database hosts, to replace a failed DIMM with the exact part, or to populate channels on a new build.
RAM-SAMSUNG-32G-3200Specification
PC4-3200AA is the JEDEC rating: 3200MT/s with the AA timing bin, which corresponds to CAS latency 22. Because the module is dual rank, the memory controller can interleave between ranks, which often improves effective throughput over single-rank modules at the same speed. The x4 organisation allows the chipkill-style device error correction offered on many Xeon and EPYC platforms.
| Platform | Memory speed |
|---|---|
| 1st Gen Intel Xeon Scalable | DDR4-2666 |
| 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable | DDR4-2933 |
| 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable | DDR4-3200 |
| AMD EPYC 7002/7003 | DDR4-3200 |
3rd Gen Xeon Scalable and EPYC 7002/7003 processors each have eight memory channels, so one 32GB module per channel gives 256GB per socket.
Installation
Memory is not hot-plug: shut the server down, disconnect power and wear an antistatic strap before opening the chassis. Fit modules in the slot order given in the server manufacturer's population guide, filling channels evenly and, in a dual-socket server, balancing memory across both processors. Do not mix RDIMMs with LRDIMMs in the same system; mixing with other DDR4 RDIMMs usually works, but every module then runs at the speed of the slowest. Matching capacity, rank and part number across each channel set gives the most predictable result. This is a registered module, so it will not work in consumer desktop boards that accept only unbuffered DDR4.

Ask on WhatsApp sales@serverdove.comWhat does PC4-3200AA mean on the Samsung M393A4K40DB3-CWE?
PC4-3200AA is the JEDEC designation for DDR4 memory running at 3200MT/s. The AA suffix identifies the timing bin, which corresponds to CAS latency 22. Any platform that supports DDR4-3200 registered memory will run this module at its full rated speed. On slower platforms, it uses the lower JEDEC speed that the system supports.
Will this 32GB RDIMM work in a desktop PC?
No. This is a registered (buffered) DIMM, and standard consumer desktop boards accept only unbuffered DDR4 memory. Registered modules need a memory controller that supports RDIMMs. That typically means Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC server and workstation platforms. Fitting it in an unbuffered-only system will usually result in the machine failing to boot.
Will DDR4-3200 run at full speed in a 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable server?
2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors support up to DDR4-2933, and 1st Gen models up to DDR4-2666. In those servers this module works but runs at the platform's maximum speed rather than 3200MT/s. Full DDR4-3200 operation needs a platform such as 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable or AMD EPYC 7002/7003.
What does 2Rx4 mean on this module?
2R means the module has two ranks, or two sets of DRAM chips that the memory controller addresses separately. x4 means each DRAM chip has a 4-bit data width. Dual-rank modules let the controller interleave accesses, which often helps throughput. The x4 organisation also supports advanced chipkill-style error correction on many server platforms.
Can I mix this module with LRDIMMs or other RDIMMs in the same server?
Do not mix registered DIMMs and load-reduced DIMMs in the same system, as server platforms generally do not support that combination. Mixing with other DDR4 RDIMMs is usually possible. However, the system will run all modules at the speed of the slowest one. Matching capacity, rank and part number across each channel set gives the most predictable results.
How many of these modules do I need to fill a server's memory channels?
It depends on the processor. 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable CPUs have eight memory channels each, and AMD EPYC 7002/7003 CPUs also have eight. Populating one 32GB module per channel gives 256GB per socket on those platforms. Always check your server's memory population guide for the recommended slot order.
What does refurbished mean at ServerDove?
Off-lease or decommissioned enterprise hardware that we clean, test and reset in Doha. Every unit goes through POST, burn-in, memory and drive checks and a power-supply check, with firmware and BIOS returned to defaults and drives securely erased.
Can I ask about the exact unit before I buy?
Yes. Message us the SKU on WhatsApp and we will confirm the condition and configuration of the unit in stock, with photos if you want them.
How fast is delivery in Qatar?
Orders ship from Doha and arrive within one working day anywhere in Qatar. Delivery is free on orders over QAR 300.
Can I collect in person?
Yes, from Nuaija Office 7, Doha, usually within 24 hours of ordering. Choose pick-up at checkout and we will message you when it is ready.

Why buy refurbished
Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new
Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.
Tested before it ships
POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.
Same performance, lower cost
A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.
In stock, not on order
New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.
Warranty and local support
Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
