Micron MTA18ADF2G72AZ-2G6E1ZI 16GB DDR4-2666 ECC unbuffered UDIMM, a refurbished memory module for single-socket servers and workstations.
The Micron MTA18ADF2G72AZ-2G6E1ZI is a 16GB DDR4 ECC UDIMM rated at 2666 MT/s (PC4-21300). It is a dual-rank 2Rx8 module with a 2G x72 organisation, running at the standard 1.2 V. It belongs to Micron's MTA18ADF2G72AZ family of 288-pin unbuffered modules. There is no register chip on the module. Error correction is handled by the memory controller, which is what single-socket entry servers and workstations built on Xeon E-series processors expect. IT teams in Doha and across Qatar fit it to fill empty channels or replace a failed module in small business towers, file servers, small virtualisation hosts, NAS builds and CAD or development workstations. These are systems where silent memory corruption matters but the board does not support registered memory. The 16GB capacity is a common step for populating channels on these platforms.
SD-RAM-MIC-16G-2666-ECCUDIMMWill it fit my system?
These single-socket systems take DDR4 ECC UDIMMs and are built on Xeon E-series processors. They do not accept RDIMMs or LRDIMMs, so this module type is the correct match.
| Server | Generation | Note |
|---|---|---|
| PowerEdge T140 | Xeon E-series | Takes DDR4 ECC UDIMMs |
| PowerEdge T340 | Xeon E-series | Takes DDR4 ECC UDIMMs |
| PowerEdge R240 | Xeon E-series | Takes DDR4 ECC UDIMMs |
| PowerEdge R340 | Xeon E-series | Takes DDR4 ECC UDIMMs |
| ThinkSystem SR250 | Xeon E-series | Takes DDR4 ECC UDIMMs |
Fit is decided by module type first. An ECC UDIMM cannot be mixed with RDIMMs or LRDIMMs in the same system, because unbuffered and registered DDR4 use different signalling. Servers that accept only registered memory will not run this module.
Specification
The module is rated at 2666 MT/s, but the actual speed is set by the processor and platform. On platforms rated below 2666 MT/s it runs at the lower supported speed, and fitting two modules per channel can also lower it.
Installation
Memory is not hot-plug: shut the server down, disconnect power and use an anti-static strap before opening the chassis. Open the slot latches, align the notch on the module with the key in the slot, and press down evenly until both latches close. Populate slots in the order given in the server's memory population rules, and keep ranks and capacities matched within each channel where possible. On first boot the system detects the new memory automatically, and no manual voltage adjustment is needed on boards that support DDR4 ECC UDIMMs.

Ask on WhatsApp sales@serverdove.comIs the MTA18ADF2G72AZ-2G6E1ZI registered or unbuffered?
It is unbuffered: an ECC UDIMM with no register chip. That makes it suitable for platforms that specify ECC unbuffered DDR4, typically single-socket entry servers and workstations. It will not work in servers that accept only RDIMMs or LRDIMMs. It should not be installed alongside registered modules in the same system.
Can this ECC UDIMM be mixed with RDIMMs?
No. Unbuffered and registered DDR4 modules use different signalling, and memory controllers do not support mixing them. A system populated with RDIMMs needs further RDIMMs, and a system using ECC UDIMMs needs further ECC UDIMMs. Check the server's memory specification for which type it supports before ordering.
What speed does this module run at?
It is rated at DDR4-2666, or 2666 MT/s (PC4-21300). The actual speed is set by the processor and platform. On systems rated for 2666 MT/s or higher it can run at 2666 MT/s. On older platforms such as Xeon E3-1200 v5 and v6 it runs at the lower supported speed, typically 2400 MT/s. Population rules, such as two modules per channel, can also lower it.
What rank and organisation is this module?
It is a dual-rank module built from x8 DRAM devices, written as 2Rx8, with a 2G x72 organisation including the ECC bits. Rank matters when matching existing modules in the same channels. It also matters on platforms that limit the total number of ranks per channel.
Will it work in a desktop motherboard without ECC support?
Some consumer boards accept ECC UDIMMs and run them with error correction disabled, while others do not boot with them. This depends on the board and processor. The module is intended for platforms that support ECC UDIMMs, such as Xeon E-series systems and certain workstation chipsets, where the error correction is actually used.
What voltage does it need?
The module runs at 1.2 V, the standard JEDEC voltage for DDR4. No manual voltage adjustment is required on server or workstation boards that support DDR4 ECC UDIMMs.
Which servers use DDR4 ECC UDIMMs like this?
Typical examples include Dell PowerEdge T140, T340, R240 and R340, HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 and DL20 Gen10, and Lenovo ThinkSystem ST50 and SR250. These are single-socket systems built on Intel Xeon E-2100 and E-2200 processors. Confirm the part against the vendor's memory configuration guide for the specific model.
What does refurbished mean at ServerDove?
Off-lease or decommissioned enterprise hardware that we clean, test and reset in Doha. Every unit goes through POST, burn-in, memory and drive checks and a power-supply check, with firmware and BIOS returned to defaults and drives securely erased.
Can I ask about the exact unit before I buy?
Yes. Message us the SKU on WhatsApp and we will confirm the condition and configuration of the unit in stock, with photos if you want them.
How fast is delivery in Qatar?
Orders ship from Doha and arrive within one working day anywhere in Qatar. Delivery is free on orders over QAR 300.

Why buy refurbished
Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new
Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.
Tested before it ships
POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.
Same performance, lower cost
A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.
In stock, not on order
New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.
Warranty and local support
Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
