The E750E-S1 is Dell's 750W hot-plug power supply for 13th and 14th generation PowerEdge servers, rated 80 Plus Platinum for efficiency and built for redundant operation in pairs. It is named as compatible with the R530, R630, R640, R730, R730xd, R740, R740xd, T430 and T630. Seven hundred and fifty watts covers most dual processor configurations of those servers, and it is the supply ServerDove fits to its own assembled R630 and R640 servers. It is refurbished. Dell's Platinum rated 750W unit converts mains to server power at around 94 percent efficiency at typical load, which over a year of continuous operation is a measurable saving against the Silver and Gold units of earlier generations, and less heat into the rack. It accepts 100 to 240V input, so it runs on any standard mains supply in Qatar without configuration.

Both supplies in a redundant pair must be the same wattage; a 750W unit paired with a 1100W unit runs in a mismatched state and Dell's firmware warns about it. A single 750W supply runs a dual processor server without redundancy; the second unit adds protection against a failed supply or a lost mains feed when each is on a separate circuit.
Installation
With a second healthy supply fitted, the failed unit can be replaced while the server runs: disconnect its cord, press the release tab, pull it out, slide this one in until it latches, and connect the cord. The status light turns green and iDRAC reports two supplies present. On a server with one supply, shut down first. No tools are needed, and a C13 power cord is required but not included.
