Dell NP9WY Broadcom 57416 2x 10Gb and 5720 2x 1Gb RJ45 quad port network daughter card Refurbished · Tested
About this network adapter

Dell quad port network card NP9WY, Broadcom 57416 dual 10Gb and 5720 dual 1Gb RJ45 ports for PowerEdge R640 and R740.

Dell part NP9WY is a four port copper network card for 14th generation PowerEdge servers, combining a Broadcom 57416 controller with two 10Gb RJ45 ports and a Broadcom 5720 controller with two 1Gb RJ45 ports on one adapter. Dell fitted it as the network daughter card of the R640, R740 and R740xd, giving a server 10GbE over ordinary copper cabling plus two Gigabit ports for management or lower speed networks. It is refurbished. Buyers in Qatar fit NP9WY to move a 14th generation server to 10GbE without fibre or transceivers, using the existing Cat6a cabling to a 10Gb copper switch, and ServerDove keeps it in Doha stock alongside its R640 and R740 servers.

The card is Dell's network daughter card form, which mounts in the dedicated slot at the rear of 14th generation rack servers rather than in a PCIe slot, so it adds four ports without using any expansion slot. The 10Gb ports negotiate down to 1Gb on older switches, and the Broadcom controllers are supported by Windows Server, Linux and VMware with drivers included in Dell's update packages.

Installation

Power the server down and unplug it, remove the lid and locate the network daughter card slot at the rear left. Release the existing card's retaining screws, lift it out, seat NP9WY on the connector and fasten it. Boot, update the card's firmware through iDRAC or Dell's update tools, and configure the ports; the 10Gb ports need Cat6a cabling for full speed over the usual office distances.

Why buy refurbished

Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new

Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.

Talk to our team

Tested before it ships

POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.

Same performance, lower cost

A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.

In stock, not on order

New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.

Warranty and local support

Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
