This is a refurbished Dell PowerEdge R630, the 1U two-socket rack server from Dell's 13th generation PowerEdge range, in the 10SFF (10 x 2.5 inch) chassis. It is fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors (8 cores each, 16 cores in total), 32GB of DDR4 ECC RDIMM memory, a Dell PERC H730 RAID controller and two 900GB 10K SAS drives giving 1.8TB raw, with a 750 W power supply. Eight of the ten drive bays are empty and the 24 DIMM slots leave plenty of room for more memory, so the build can grow with the workload. IT teams in Doha and across Qatar buy this R630 as a compact host for file, database and light virtualisation duties, or as a matched addition to an existing R630 estate where the same drives, memory and management tools are already in use.
