Dell PowerEdge R650 1U rack server with 2 x Xeon Silver 4309Y, supplied without memory or drives for custom builds.
This is a refurbished Dell PowerEdge R650, SKU SRV-DELL-R650-4309YX2-BARE, a 1U dual socket rack server from Dell's 15th generation PowerEdge range built on 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. This unit has two Xeon Silver 4309Y processors fitted, giving 16 cores and 32 threads in total, with dual redundant power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise for remote management. No memory and no drives are installed. It suits IT teams, resellers and system builders in Qatar who standardise on their own DDR4 ECC Registered memory and their own SAS, SATA or NVMe drives, and prefer not to pay for components they would replace. The R650 accepts the PERC H745 RAID controller for hardware RAID. We supply it from Doha as a base for virtualisation hosts, application servers and file services in a dense rack.

Virtualisation hosts with a modest number of virtual machines, where 16 cores and the large memory capacity of 32 slots matter more than per-core speed.
File services, domain controllers, web and application servers, and general business infrastructure in a rack where space is limited.
Builders who want to fit their own memory and drives to a known specification across several servers.
Heavy database, analytics or high-density virtualisation work will be limited by core count and by the 2666 MT/s memory speed. For those workloads, plan a processor upgrade within the same platform.
Upgrade paths
- Memory: all 32 DIMM slots are free. Fill at least one DIMM per channel on each processor for full bandwidth.
- Storage: every front bay is empty and ready for SAS, SATA or NVMe drives, depending on the backplane.
- Processors: the platform accepts 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable processors up to 40 cores each. Both sockets must carry identical processors.
- Expansion: up to three PCIe Gen4 slots for network adapters, HBAs or accelerators.
Compatibility
The R650 takes DDR4 ECC Registered DIMMs. Do not mix registered memory with unbuffered modules, and keep module size and rank identical across a processor's channels. Populate both processors' memory banks in the same pattern for balanced performance. SAS and SATA drives need a SAS or SATA backplane, while NVMe drives need an NVMe-capable backplane and the matching cabling. Each drive must sit in a Dell drive carrier that suits the bay size, 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch.

What does refurbished mean at ServerDove?
Off-lease or decommissioned enterprise hardware that we clean, test and reset in Doha. Every unit goes through POST, burn-in, memory and drive checks and a power-supply check, with firmware and BIOS returned to defaults and drives securely erased.

How fast is delivery in Qatar?
