Refurbished · Tested
Refurbished Dell Precision T7920 tower workstation with a 20-core Xeon Gold 6148, 32GB ECC memory and 480GB SSD for engineering work.
This is a refurbished Dell Precision T7920 Tower Workstation, which Dell also sells as the Precision 7920 Tower. It is Dell's dual-socket tower on the Intel Xeon Scalable platform with LGA3647 sockets. This unit has an Intel Xeon Gold 6148, a first-generation Xeon Scalable (Skylake-SP) processor with 20 cores and 40 threads. It also has 32GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and an Intel DC 480GB enterprise SSD as the system drive. Our SKU for this configuration is WS-DELL-T7920-6148-32GB-480SSD. Engineering firms, design studios and research teams in Qatar choose the T7920 when a standard desktop is too small for the job: large CAD assemblies, simulation, rendering and local virtualisation. ECC memory protects long calculations from silent errors. The 24 DIMM slots and tower chassis let the machine grow with the work. We hold this configuration in Doha for buyers who want a proven Xeon base to build on.
WS-DELL-T7920-6148-32GB-480SSDFull configuration
The Gold 6148 is a 2017 Skylake-SP processor with six DDR4 memory channels. Memory in this workstation runs at up to 2666 MT/s. For full bandwidth, fit DIMMs in sets of six per processor, matched in size, speed and rank.
What this configuration suits
Compare the workload you have in mind against the fitted components.
solvers, meshing and batch jobs that scale across many threads make full use of the 20 cores. Single-threaded modelling tasks lean more on the 3.7 GHz turbo frequency.
40 threads and ECC memory suit several virtual machines on one desk. Note that 32GB fills quickly once a few guests are running.
CPU renderers use every core. GPU-accelerated applications need a workstation-class graphics card sized to the software and its memory demands.
Plan memory growth with DDR4 ECC RDIMMs of the same speed and rank as the fitted modules, and avoid mixing module types. Keep the 480GB SSD for the operating system and applications. Add a second drive for project data and scratch files so heavy reads and writes do not compete with the system. Check that the chassis power supply can carry any high-wattage graphics card before ordering one.

Why buy refurbished
Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new
Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.
Tested before it ships
POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.
Same performance, lower cost
A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.
In stock, not on order
New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.
Warranty and local support
Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
