HPE part 865399-001 is the 500W Flex Slot power supply for ProLiant Gen10 servers, rated 80 Plus Platinum and built for hot-plug redundant operation in the Flex Slot bays of the DL360 Gen10 and DL380 Gen10. Flex Slot is HPE's shared power supply form factor for Gen9 and Gen10, in which the same bay takes 500W, 800W, 1600W and other ratings, so a chassis can be fitted with the wattage its configuration needs. Five hundred watts covers a modestly configured dual processor server. It is refurbished. Buyers in Qatar use 865399-001 to replace a failed Gen10 supply, to add the second unit for redundancy, or to complete a Gen10 barebone. Specification
Both supplies in a redundant pair must be the same wattage and efficiency grade; a 500W unit beside an 800W unit runs in a mismatched state that iLO reports. Five hundred watts suits servers with two mid-range processors and a handful of drives; a fully loaded DL380 Gen10 with high wattage processors and many drives needs the 800W part. The supply accepts 100 to 240V input.
Installation
With a second healthy supply present, replace a failed unit while the server runs: remove the cord, press the release latch, slide the old supply out, push this one in until it clicks, and reconnect the cord; the LED turns green and iLO shows two supplies. On a single supply server, shut down first. No tools are needed; a C13 cord is required and not included.
