HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen8 8SFF rack server barebone, a refurbished 1U dual Xeon E5-2600 v1 and v2 chassis with DDR3 memory.
The ProLiant DL360 Gen8 is HPE's eighth generation 1U rack server, built around the original Intel Xeon E5-2600 family and its v2 successor in LGA2011 sockets, with DDR3 ECC Registered memory. This chassis has 8 x 2.5 inch SFF hot-plug bays, PCIe 3.0 expansion and integrated iLO 4, the same management controller that carried through to Gen9. It is supplied with no CPU, no RAM and no drives. It is an older platform, and that is the point: E5-2600 v1 and v2 processors and DDR3 RDIMMs cost very little, so a refurbished DL360 Gen8 is the cheapest route to a dual socket server with remote management. Buyers in Qatar use it for labs, test environments, firewalls and backup roles where the workload does not justify a newer generation. ServerDove holds the chassis in Doha stock.

Gen8 introduced the SmartDrive carrier, the modular front cages and iLO 4, all of which HPE kept for the next two generations. The processor and memory platform, however, is the DDR3 era, and parts from Gen9 onward do not fit.
What you need to add
Everything for this platform is DDR3 era and LGA2011, so check that parts on hand are the right generation before assuming they will fit. The v2 processors are the better buy where available, for more cores at the same wattage.
- One or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v1 or v2 processors with DL360 Gen8 heatsinks
- DDR3 ECC Registered DIMMs, four per processor to use every memory channel
- 2.5 inch SAS, SATA or SSD drives in HPE SmartDrive carriers
- A Smart Array controller or HBA, if not already on the system board
- HPE Common Slot power supplies, two for redundancy
v2 processors need system firmware from 2013 or later. Both processors must be from the same family, v1 with v1 or v2 with v2, and memory speed follows the slower of the processor limit and the DIMM rating.
Compatibility
The DL360 Gen8 shares processors and memory with the 2U and tower Gen8 servers, and its drive carriers with every ProLiant through Gen10, so drives are the one part that can follow you to a newer server.

What does refurbished mean at ServerDove?
Off-lease or decommissioned enterprise hardware that we clean, test and reset in Doha. Every unit goes through POST, burn-in, memory and drive checks and a power-supply check, with firmware and BIOS returned to defaults and drives securely erased.
Can I ask about the exact unit before I buy?
Yes. Message us the SKU on WhatsApp and we will confirm the condition and configuration of the unit in stock, with photos if you want them.
How fast is delivery in Qatar?
Orders ship from Doha and arrive within one working day anywhere in Qatar. Delivery is free on orders over QAR 300.
Can I collect in person?
Yes, from Nuaija Office 7, Doha, usually within 24 hours of ordering. Choose pick-up at checkout and we will message you when it is ready.
What warranty is included?
