ServerDove assembled this refurbished DL360 Gen9 in Doha on the 8SFF barebone. It runs two Intel Xeon E5-2682 v4 processors, 16 cores each at 2.50GHz in LGA2011-3, for 32 cores in 1U, with two Micron 16GB DDR4 2666MHz ECC RDIMMs for 32GB, two HPE 1.2TB 10K SAS 12Gb/s 2.5 inch SFF enterprise hard drives (781514-002) on the HPE Smart Array P440ar RAID controller. The E5-2682 v4 is an OEM variant of the v4 family with more cores than the mainstream parts at the same clock, which makes this a dense compute node for its generation. Buyers in Qatar use it as a virtualisation host or application server where the 8SFF chassis and cached P440ar give room for SSDs later.

Compare the workload you have in mind against the fitted components.
The two drives mirrored on the P440ar, with its flash backed write cache, make a quick system volume; virtual machine storage should go on SSDs in the six spare bays or on the network.
two modules on two processors means one channel each of four, so bandwidth is limited until more DIMMs are fitted. The 2666MHz modules run at 2400 MT/s, the v4 maximum, so speed is not lost.

What does refurbished mean at ServerDove?
Off-lease or decommissioned enterprise hardware that we clean, test and reset in Doha. Every unit goes through POST, burn-in, memory and drive checks and a power-supply check, with firmware and BIOS returned to defaults and drives securely erased.
