The Intel D7-P5520, model SSDPF2KX019T1M in its 1.92TB capacity, is a data centre NVMe solid state drive in the 2.5 inch U.2 form factor, connecting over four lanes of PCIe 4.0. It is the mainstream read intensive drive of Intel's D7 line, built for the NVMe bays of current servers, with the power loss protection, consistent latency and telemetry expected of enterprise flash. It is refurbished and sold as a bare drive. The drive needs a server bay wired for NVMe, which means an NVMe capable backplane and either direct processor lanes or a PCIe switch; a SAS only backplane accepts the drive physically but cannot see it. Fit it in the server's U.2 caddy, not included, and hot-plug it if the server supports NVMe hot-plug, or fit it powered down otherwise. The operating system's NVMe driver presents it directly; for RAID, use software RAID or a controller that supports NVMe. Update the drive firmware with Intel's or the server vendor's tools.
