The Xeon E5-2643 v3 is the frequency optimised six core of Intel's E5 v3 family, the Haswell generation for the LGA2011-3 socket. Its 3.40GHz base and 3.70GHz turbo are the highest of the generation, with 20MB of cache, DDR4 memory at 1866 MT/s, PCIe 3.0 and a 135W rating. It exists for software that runs on few threads and is licensed per core: databases, trading systems, CAD and simulation.
