The Xeon Gold 6126 is the twelve core, 125W member of Intel's first generation Xeon Scalable Gold series for the LGA3647 socket. It runs a 2.60GHz base and 3.70GHz turbo with 19.25MB of cache, supports six channels of DDR4-2666 and PCIe 3.0, and is named as compatible with the Dell PowerEdge R640, R740 and R840. It sits between the 4100 Silver parts and the twenty core Gold parts in both cost and capability. Installation
Clip the processor into its carrier, attach it to the heatsink, lower the assembly onto the LGA3647 socket and tighten the four screws in the sequence marked on the heatsink. A first generation server needs no BIOS update. In a multi socket server every processor must be the same model, and memory should be split evenly across the sockets, six DIMMs per processor for full bandwidth.
