It supports six channels of DDR4-2666 memory and 48 lanes of PCIe 3.0, and is named as compatible with the Dell PowerEdge R640, R740 and R840. It sits between the twenty core 6138 and the twelve core 6136, with a higher clock than the former and more cores than the latter. Specification
At 140W the 6140 needs the high performance heatsink in a 1U chassis but is comfortable in 2U. Installation
Mount the processor in its carrier on a heatsink rated for 140W, lower the assembly onto the LGA3647 socket and tighten the four screws in the marked order.
