The Xeon Gold 6246 is the frequency optimised twelve core of Intel's second generation Xeon Scalable family, the Cascade Lake refresh for the LGA3647 socket. A 3.30GHz base and 4.20GHz turbo are among the highest in the range, backed by 24.75MB of cache, six channels of DDR4-2933 memory and PCIe 3.0, at a 165W thermal rating. It is built for databases, trading and engineering applications where each core must be as fast as possible.
