Cisco STACK-T1-50CM 50cm Type 1 StackWise data stacking cable, part 800-40403-01, for stacking Catalyst 3850, 9300 and C9300X switches.
The Cisco STACK-T1-50CM is a 50cm Type 1 StackWise data stacking cable, Cisco part number 800-40403-01. It joins the dedicated rear stacking ports of Catalyst switches so that several units run as one logical switch with a single management and control plane. It is used on Catalyst 3850 models that support StackWise and Catalyst 9300 modular-uplink models, both StackWise-480 platforms, and on Catalyst C9300X models, which run StackWise-1T with the same Type 1 cable. Network teams in Qatar buy this refurbished cable to build a new stack, extend an existing one or replace a damaged link. The 50cm length suits switches mounted directly above or below one another, which keeps the rear of the rack tidy. It carries stack data only. Power sharing between members needs separate StackPower cables. We hold it in Doha with other Catalyst stacking spares.
SD-CISCO-STACK-T1-50CMSpecification
The cable has a Cisco Type 1 stacking connector at each end and plugs into the dedicated StackWise ports on the rear of the switch. Stack bandwidth is set by the switch platform, not the cable: 480 Gb/s on StackWise-480 platforms and 1 Tb/s on StackWise-1T platforms such as the C9300X.
The fixed-uplink C9300L and C9300LM, the Catalyst 3650 and the Catalyst 2960-X use different stacking hardware, so a Type 1 connector does not fit their stacking ports. Check the switch model before ordering: modular-uplink 9300 and C9300X models take Type 1 cables.
Installation
Each switch in a stack has two stacking ports. Connect each switch to the next with one cable, then add a final cable from the last switch back to the first to close the ring, so a stack needs as many cables as it has members. A stack runs with the ring open, but a closed ring gives an alternative path if one cable or port fails. The 50cm cable suits adjacent switches; the link that closes the ring from the top switch to the bottom switch in a larger stack usually needs a longer Type 1 cable.
Seat each connector squarely and fully in the port before securing it, and route the cable so it does not pull on the connector. The cable physically fits both Catalyst 3850 and Catalyst 9300 switches, but stack membership is governed by the switch platform and software, so plan stacks within a single supported family. If the switches support StackPower and you need power redundancy, add StackPower cables to the separate StackPower ports.

Ask on WhatsApp sales@serverdove.comWhich switches use the STACK-T1-50CM cable?
It is used on Cisco Catalyst 3850 models that support StackWise, Catalyst 9300 modular-uplink models and C9300X models. These switches have dedicated rear stacking ports that accept Type 1 connectors. Each switch in a stack has two stacking ports, and the cables join neighbouring members to form the stack ring.
Does this cable work with the Catalyst 9300L or 3650?
No. The C9300L, C9300LM, Catalyst 3650 and Catalyst 2960-X use different stacking hardware and connectors, so a Type 1 cable does not fit their stacking ports. Check the switch model before ordering: modular-uplink 9300 and C9300X models take Type 1 cables, while the fixed-uplink 9300L family does not.
Does the StackWise cable also share power between switches?
No. The STACK-T1-50CM carries stack data traffic only. On platforms that support StackPower, power sharing and redundancy between stack members require separate StackPower cables connected to the dedicated StackPower ports. A stack works without StackPower, but each switch then relies on its own power supplies.
Can I mix Catalyst 3850 and Catalyst 9300 switches in one stack using this cable?
The cable physically fits both families, but that does not mean the switches can be combined in one stack. Stack membership is governed by the switch platform and software, not the cable. Plan stacks within a single supported family and confirm mixed-stacking support in Cisco documentation before combining models.
When should I choose the 50cm length?
The 50cm cable suits switches mounted directly above or below one another in the same rack. For the longer link that closes the ring from the top switch back to the bottom switch in a larger stack, or for switches spaced further apart, a longer Type 1 cable is usually needed.
How many stacking cables does a stack need?
A full ring needs one cable per stack member: each switch connects to the next, and a final cable links the last switch back to the first. A stack can operate with the ring open, but closing it provides an alternative path if one cable or port fails.
What is the difference between StackWise-480 and StackWise-1T?
StackWise-480 provides 480 Gb/s of stack bandwidth and is used on the Catalyst 3850 and Catalyst 9300 modular-uplink models. StackWise-1T provides 1 Tb/s and is used on supported C9300X models. The Type 1 cable is used for both; the bandwidth is set by the switch platform.

Why buy refurbished
Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new
Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.
Tested before it ships
POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.
Same performance, lower cost
A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.
In stock, not on order
New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.
Warranty and local support
Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
