About SATA SSDs

محركات الأقراص ذات الحالة الصلبة SATA الموثوقة لترقيات الخوادم ومحطات العمل وأنظمة الأعمال. تحسين سرعة التطبيقات وأداء التمهيد واستجابة التخزين.

SATA SSDs are the most widely compatible way to put flash into a server. They fit standard 2.5-inch bays and run on both SATA and SAS controllers. This collection holds enterprise 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, including Intel data centre (DC) drives, Dell EMC branded Samsung PM883 drives and Dell DC drives, in capacities from small boot drives upward.

It is for buyers who want a clear speed gain over hard drives at a sensible cost: boot and operating system volumes, web and file servers, and read-heavy virtual machines.

Where SATA SSDs fit best

  • Boot drives: a mirrored pair of small SATA SSDs is a common way to hold a server's operating system.
  • Read-heavy data: web content, file shares and virtual desktop images read far more than they write.
  • Upgrading older servers: replacing 10K hard drives with SATA SSDs speeds up random access without a new controller.

The 6Gb/s link caps throughput, so for heavy mixed read and write loads, compare SAS SSDs or NVMe SSDs.

Enterprise versus consumer SATA

Enterprise SATA drives are rated for continuous operation, carry endurance ratings, hold performance under sustained load and typically include power-loss protection. Consumer drives are cheaper but can slow sharply under long writes. Most drives here are read-intensive, which suits the uses above; ask for a higher endurance class for write-heavy work.

Buying SATA SSDs from ServerDove

SSDs ship from Doha, normally arriving in one day across Qatar. Refurbished drives are tested before listing and covered by the ServerDove warranty. For caddies and fit, send us the server model; for the full flash range, see solid-state drives.
