RAID Levels Explained: RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for Business Servers

تصفح محركات الأقراص الصلبة للمؤسسات (SSD) للخوادم ومحطات العمل، بما في ذلك محركات أقراص SAS وSATA وNVMe SSDs بسعات ومستويات تحمل مختلفة.
This collection brings together the SSDs we stock for servers and workstations: 2.5-inch SATA drives such as the Samsung PM883 and SM863a and the Intel DC series, 2.5-inch SAS SSDs from Dell and Huawei, and NVMe drives in U.2 and M.2 form. Most are enterprise models with endurance ratings for continuous use, in new and refurbished condition.
It is for buyers moving a server off spinning disks, building fast arrays for virtualisation and databases, or replacing a failed SSD, who need to compare interfaces before deciding.
| SATA SSD | SAS SSD | NVMe SSD | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connection | SATA or SAS controller | SAS controller | PCIe lanes |
| Link | 6Gb/s | 12Gb/s, dual port | PCIe, several lanes |
| Best for | Boot drives, read-heavy servers, value upgrades | Busy arrays on SAS RAID controllers | Lowest latency workloads |
| Range | SATA SSDs | SAS SSDs | NVMe SSDs |
Enterprise SSDs are rated by how much data they can write over their life, quoted as drive writes per day (DWPD) or terabytes written (TBW). Read-intensive drives suit boot volumes, web servers and file serving. Mixed-use drives take a steady share of writes, as in virtualisation and general databases. Write-intensive drives are for logging, caching and write-heavy databases. Enterprise SSDs also typically include power-loss protection, which consumer drives often lack.
SSDs are stocked in Doha, with delivery across Qatar typically taking one day. Refurbished SSDs are tested before listing and carry the ServerDove warranty. Tell us the server model, the controller and the workload, and the team will recommend an interface and endurance class. For spinning disk, see hard drives.
Match the controller first. If the server has a SAS RAID controller, SATA and SAS SSDs both work, with SAS giving more headroom. If it has NVMe bays or a spare PCIe slot, NVMe offers the lowest latency. For boot drives and general upgrades, a SATA SSD is usually the value choice.
It is the write endurance they are rated for. Read-intensive drives suit workloads that mostly read, such as boot volumes and web or file servers. Mixed-use drives are rated for a higher level of daily writes, which suits virtualisation and busy databases. Both deliver similar read speeds.
Enterprise SSDs are built for continuous use: they carry endurance ratings for sustained writes, keep performance steady under load and typically include power-loss protection to guard data in flight. Consumer SSDs can slow sharply under sustained writes and are not designed for server RAID arrays.
Yes. A 2.5-inch SATA or SAS SSD fits the same bay and caddy as a 2.5-inch hard drive. Build the SSDs as their own array rather than mixing them with hard drives in one array. Send us the server model and we will confirm the controller supports the drives you choose.
They can be, provided the remaining endurance suits the workload. Our refurbished SSDs are tested before listing and covered by the ServerDove warranty. For boot drives and read-heavy servers they are good value; for heavy write workloads, ask the team for a drive with a higher endurance class.
Yes. Send the interface, capacity, form factor and endurance class you need, or the part number from an existing drive, to sales@serverdove.com or on WhatsApp +974 5521 2108. We will check availability, confirm the interface suits your server and send a quotation, including bulk quantities.
