Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS-S2 2MP Full HD IR dome IP camera with motorised varifocal lens, for PoE-powered CCTV and network surveillance.
The Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS-S2 is a new 2MP Full HD network dome camera for IP CCTV systems. It pairs a motorised varifocal lens with infrared illumination for night-time coverage, encodes video in H.265 or H.264, and takes its power over the same Ethernet cable that carries its video. The weatherproof dome housing allows mounting on ceilings, soffits and walls in indoor and outdoor positions, and built-in smart detection helps operators concentrate on relevant events rather than hours of empty footage. Installers in Doha and across Qatar choose this model for entrances, corridors, car parks and perimeter points where the field of view has to be set precisely. Because zoom and focus are motorised, the framing can be adjusted from the camera's web interface or from a recorder after mounting, without returning to the ladder. It suits new projects as well as expansions of existing Dahua NVR systems.
CAM-DAHUA-HDW2231RPZSS2-NEWSpecification
The 2MP sensor records Full HD video at 1920 x 1080. H.265 needs considerably less bitrate than H.264 for similar image quality, so it is the setting to choose where recorder storage or network capacity is limited; H.264 remains available for older recorders and viewing software.
Installation
The camera needs a PoE switch port, a PoE-capable recorder port or a PoE injector, plus a run of Cat5e or better cable. Keep each Ethernet run within the standard 100 m limit, and check the total PoE budget of the switch when several cameras share it. A network video recorder or video management software is needed for continuous recording.
Mount the dome first, then set the field of view. Connect to the camera's web interface or add it to the recorder, use the motorised zoom to frame the area, and run the focus adjustment so the image is sharp at the distance that matters. Re-check the image after dark, because infrared light reflecting off nearby walls, eaves or ceilings can wash out the picture.
- Assign a static IP address or a DHCP reservation so the recorder always finds the camera.
- Replace the default password with a strong one before the camera goes into service.
- Update the firmware to the current Dahua release for the model.
- On outdoor mounts, seal the cable entry or use a junction box so water cannot track along the cable into the housing.
- Choose H.265 in the recorder settings where the recorder supports it, to save storage.

Why buy refurbished
Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new
Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.
Tested before it ships
POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.
Same performance, lower cost
A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.
In stock, not on order
New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.
Warranty and local support
Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
