Specification
The bezel is perforated so airflow to the drives is unaffected, and it leaves the power button and the status indicators visible through the front. The same bezel serves the three 1U models because they share a front width and latch positions; the 2U R740 uses a taller bezel of its own. A missing bezel does not affect a server's operation, but in a colocation rack or a shared office it is the only thing between a passer-by and a hot-plug drive.
Installation
Hook the bezel's right edge onto the chassis, swing the left edge in until the latch clicks, and turn the key to lock it. To remove it, unlock, press the release and swing it off. It fits with the server running and needs no tools; keep the key with the rack's other keys, since a locked bezel must be unlocked before a drive can be changed.
