Refurbished · Tested
Dell PowerEdge R630 1U server with dual Xeon E5-2680 v4, 64GB and 10SFF bays, for virtualisation and application hosting.
This is a refurbished Dell PowerEdge R630, our assembly SD-000017-ASSY, a 1U dual-socket rack server from Dell's 13th generation PowerEdge range. It is fitted with 2 x Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 processors (14 cores each, 28 in total), 64GB of DDR4 ECC Registered memory, a Dell H730 RAID controller and 2 x 1.2TB 10K SAS drives in the 10SFF (10 x 2.5 inch) chassis. Dual redundant power supplies and iDRAC 8 Enterprise remote management complete the build. Buyers in Qatar choose this configuration when they need a complete host that can go into a rack and run, without sourcing CPUs, memory, a controller and drives separately. It suits virtualisation hosts, internal application servers and infrastructure roles where rack space is limited. The server is ready to collect in Doha, and eight free drive bays leave room to grow local storage.
SD-000017-ASSYFull configuration
The first rows are the configuration fitted to this server. The rows after them are platform specifications for the PowerEdge R630, which is a 13th generation Dell server built around Intel Xeon v3 and v4 processors.
What this configuration suits
Compare the workload you have in mind against the fitted components.
With 28 cores and 56 threads, the server suits virtualisation hosts running a moderate number of virtual machines, consolidation of several older servers onto one host, and internal application, database or file services for a small to mid-sized organisation.
The 64GB of memory is a sensible starting point but will often be the first limit in a virtualisation role. Plan to add memory before adding processors or drives if you intend to run many guests.
The two fitted 1.2TB SAS drives are best used as a RAID 1 mirror for the operating system and applications. For larger data sets or faster storage, add drives to the free bays and build a second array on the H730.
As a 1U chassis it has limited PCIe slots and no room for full-height GPUs, so it is not the right choice for heavy GPU compute or large internal storage.
Upgrade paths
- Memory: the platform has 24 DIMM slots across two processors, so 64GB can be expanded substantially with matching DDR4 RDIMMs.
- Storage: 8 of the 10 x 2.5 inch bays are free for further SAS or SATA drives or SSDs.
- Processors: the R630 accepts higher core count Xeon v4 processors if more compute is needed later.
- Network: the network daughter card can be changed to a 10GbE option for faster uplinks.
- Expansion: PCIe slots on the risers take additional network or HBA cards.
Compatibility
Additional drives need Dell 2.5 inch hot-plug carriers made for 13th generation PowerEdge servers; carriers from earlier generations do not fit. Memory must be DDR4 ECC Registered to match the fitted modules, and RDIMMs and LRDIMMs must not be mixed in the same server. When adding memory, populate both processors evenly and keep modules of the same size and rank in each channel for best performance. For rack mounting, use Dell 1U rails designed for the R630; Dell ReadyRails sliding or static rails suit standard four-post racks.

Ask on WhatsApp sales@serverdove.comWhat kind of workloads is the Dell PowerEdge R630 suited for?
This configuration is well suited to virtualisation, application hosting, internal services, and other general-purpose server workloads that benefit from dual-socket Xeon compute and ECC memory. The 1U chassis makes it a practical choice where rack density matters, while the RAID controller and SAS storage support structured storage layouts for business use.
How much processor capacity does this server have?
The system is fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 processors, each with 14 cores. That gives the server 28 total physical cores, which is useful for workloads that can spread across multiple threads, such as virtual machines, service consolidation, and multi-user application environments.
What storage is installed in this PowerEdge R630?
It includes two 1.2TB SAS hard drives for a total of 2.4TB of installed local storage. The chassis is a 10-bay 2.5-inch small-form-factor model, so the platform is built around compact enterprise drives and hardware RAID management rather than consumer desktop storage.
Does this server include remote management?
Yes. The configuration includes iDRAC 8 Enterprise, which is Dell’s remote management platform for PowerEdge servers. That is useful for administrators who need to monitor, configure, and access the machine without being physically present at the rack.
What RAID controller is fitted?
This machine is fitted with a Dell H730 RAID controller. Hardware RAID is helpful when you want to manage the installed SAS drives as a mirrored or otherwise organised storage set, rather than relying on software-only disk management.
Is this a single-CPU or dual-CPU server?
It is a dual-CPU system. Both processor sockets are populated with Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 CPUs, which is the right configuration for buyers who want more parallel processing capacity than a single-socket server provides.
What does refurbished mean at ServerDove?
Off-lease or decommissioned enterprise hardware that we clean, test and reset in Doha. Every unit goes through POST, burn-in, memory and drive checks and a power-supply check, with firmware and BIOS returned to defaults and drives securely erased.
Can I ask about the exact unit before I buy?
Yes. Message us the SKU on WhatsApp and we will confirm the condition and configuration of the unit in stock, with photos if you want them.
How fast is delivery in Qatar?
Orders ship from Doha and arrive within one working day anywhere in Qatar. Delivery is free on orders over QAR 300.
Can I collect in person?
Yes, from Nuaija Office 7, Doha, usually within 24 hours of ordering. Choose pick-up at checkout and we will message you when it is ready.
What warranty is included?
A 6-month hardware warranty from the delivery date, covering the unit as supplied. If a part fails we repair or replace it. Full terms are on the warranty page.
What is your return policy?
If the unit arrives faulty or not as described, tell us and we will collect it and replace or refund it. Full terms are on the Refund Policy page.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard and American Express online. Bank transfer is available for company orders; contact us for details.

Why buy refurbished
Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new
Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.
Tested before it ships
POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.
Same performance, lower cost
A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.
In stock, not on order
New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.
Warranty and local support
Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
