The ProLiant DL360 Gen8 is HPE's eighth generation 1U rack server, built around the original Intel Xeon E5-2600 family and its v2 successor in LGA2011 sockets, with DDR3 ECC Registered memory. This chassis has 8 x 2.5 inch SFF hot-plug bays, PCIe 3.0 expansion and integrated iLO 4, the same management controller that carried through to Gen9. It is supplied with no CPU, no RAM and no drives.
It is an older platform, and that is the point: E5-2600 v1 and v2 processors and DDR3 RDIMMs cost very little, so a refurbished DL360 Gen8 is the cheapest route to a dual socket server with remote management.
