A refurbished 2U built by ServerDove in Doha on the DL380 Gen10 8SFF barebone. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6140 processors, 18 cores each at 2.30GHz in LGA3647, give 36 cores; six Micron 4GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMMs give 24GB; two Dell 1.2TB 10K SAS 12Gb/s 2.5 inch enterprise hard drives sit on the HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 controller. The Dell branded drives are standard 12Gb/s SAS and run on the HPE controller without issue. The Gold 6140 has a higher clock than the more common 6138 with slightly fewer cores, which suits databases and application servers in Qatar that value per thread speed. The 2U chassis leaves six bays and every PCIe slot open for growth.

A capable application or database host on 36 cores, with the P408i-a's cache making the mirrored 10K pair a responsive system volume. The 24GB of memory is the deliberate economy in this build; it runs a few services well and expands cheaply.
Six modules across two processors populate three channels each of six, so memory bandwidth is half of the platform maximum until more DIMMs are added. That matters for in-memory workloads, less so for general services.
