This is a refurbished HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen9, sold under our SKU SRV-HP-ML350G9-32G-2X1.2TB. The ML350 is HPE's dual-socket tower server, and Gen9 is the generation built around the Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 and v4 processor families and DDR4 memory. This unit is configured with a single Intel Xeon processor, 32GB of DDR4 ECC memory and two 1.2TB SAS enterprise hard drives on the integrated HPE Smart Array RAID controller, with iLO4 for remote management. It suits offices in Doha and across Qatar that want a proper server without a rack: a file server, a domain controller, a small application host or a backup target. The second socket and the free memory slots leave room to grow, so a business can start with this configuration and expand later.

What this configuration suits

Two 1.2TB SAS drives in a RAID 1 mirror give 1.2TB of usable, redundant capacity.
Domain controller, DNS and DHCP roles, accounting databases and line-of-business applications with modest user counts. 32GB of ECC memory is comfortable for these roles.
A light virtualisation host running two or three small virtual machines.
one processor and 32GB of memory will not carry a dense virtualisation cluster or a large database. Two hard drives also limit random I/O, so heavy transactional workloads benefit from more spindles or solid state drives.
Upgrade paths
- Second processor: the empty socket takes a matching Intel Xeon E5-2600 processor of the same generation, model and stepping as the fitted one, with its heatsink.
- Memory: 12 slots are usable with one processor. Fitting the second processor enables the other 12, up to the 3 TB platform ceiling.
- Storage: additional drive cages extend the chassis towards the 48 x 2.5 inch or 24 x 3.5 inch platform maximum.
- Power: a second Flexible Slot power supply of the same wattage gives redundant power.
Compatibility
Memory must be DDR4 registered or load-reduced ECC modules. Do not mix RDIMMs and LRDIMMs in the same server, and match the modules on each processor to keep memory channels balanced. Drives fit in HPE SmartDrive carriers of the matching size for the cage, and the Smart Array controller accepts SAS and SATA drives. Use HPE Flexible Slot supplies, and fit only units of the same wattage and efficiency in a redundant pair. Update the system ROM and iLO4 firmware before fitting v4 processors or new drive types, so the server recognises them correctly.
