SK Hynix HMAA4GR7AJR4N-WM 32GB DDR4-2933 single-rank ECC registered DIMM for Dell PowerEdge 14th generation and HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers.
The HMAA4GR7AJR4N-WM is SK Hynix's 32GB DDR4 registered ECC DIMM, labelled PC4-2933Y and rated at 2933MT/s with CL21 timings. It is a single-rank 1Rx4 module built on 16Gb DRAM devices, so it reaches 32GB on one rank and loads the memory channel more lightly than an older dual-rank 32GB stick built from 8Gb chips. 2933MT/s is the native memory speed of 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable (Cascade Lake) processors, which is why modules of this specification are common in Dell PowerEdge 14th generation and HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers. Buyers are usually adding capacity to a virtualisation or database host, filling every channel with identical modules, or replacing a failed DIMM with the same part number already in the machine. We supply it refurbished from our Doha stock to IT teams, resellers and lab builders across Qatar.
RAM-SKHYNIX-32G-2933Will it fit my system?
Both servers below are two-socket platforms with 24 DIMM slots, six memory channels per processor. They run memory at 2933MT/s when fitted with 2nd Generation Xeon Scalable processors; with 1st Generation (Skylake) processors the same module runs at the lower speed that processor supports.
| Server | Generation | Note |
|---|---|---|
| PowerEdge R740 | 14th generation | 2933MT/s with Cascade Lake processors |
| ProLiant DL380 Gen10 | Gen10 | 2933MT/s with Cascade Lake processors |
Never mix RDIMMs with LRDIMMs or unbuffered DIMMs in the same server. Mixed speeds run at the speed of the slowest module, and identical modules in each channel give the most predictable result.
Specification
The module fits 288-pin DDR4 slots only and runs at the standard DDR4 voltage of 1.2V. In a system whose memory controller is limited to a lower speed, it runs at the speed the platform supports. The x4 DRAM organisation supports the stronger error-correction modes that server memory controllers offer.
Installation
Memory is not hot-plug: shut the server down, remove the power cords and wait for the standby LEDs to go out before opening the chassis. Use an anti-static strap and fit modules in the slot order shown on the server's cover label. Press each module straight down until both retaining clips close. Populate channels evenly with identical modules for the best bandwidth. Before fitting 16Gb-based RDIMMs, update the BIOS to a current release, then check that the new capacity is reported at POST and in iDRAC or iLO.

Ask on WhatsApp sales@serverdove.comWhat does HMAA4GR7AJR4N-WM mean?
HMAA4GR7AJR4N-WM is SK Hynix's part number for a 32GB DDR4 registered ECC DIMM. The -WM suffix denotes DDR4-2933 operation with 21-21-21 timings, which corresponds to the PC4-2933Y designation on the label. The module is single rank with x4 DRAM organisation and uses 16Gb DRAM devices. Matching this exact part number is the simplest way to keep a server's memory configuration consistent.
Is this the same as the HMAA4GR7AJR4N-XN?
Both are 32GB single-rank 1Rx4 DDR4 RDIMMs built on 16Gb DRAM, but they are rated at different speeds. The -XN version is rated at DDR4-3200, while this -WM module is rated at DDR4-2933. On 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable servers, whose maximum memory speed is 2933MT/s, the two would typically operate at the same speed.
Will this RDIMM work in a Dell PowerEdge R740 or HPE DL380 Gen10?
DDR4-2933 registered ECC modules of this specification are used in Dell PowerEdge 14th generation servers such as the R740 and in HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers such as the DL380 Gen10. These servers run 2933MT/s memory when fitted with 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable processors. Check your system's memory guide and BIOS level, particularly for support of 16Gb-based RDIMMs, before ordering.
Can I mix this module with dual-rank or different-speed memory?
Most server platforms allow mixing ranks and speeds within the same module type, with some restrictions. Mixed-speed DIMMs generally run at the speed of the slowest installed module, and many vendors recommend identical modules within each channel for best performance. You should never mix RDIMMs with LRDIMMs or unbuffered DIMMs. Consult your server's population rules before combining different modules.
Can this memory be used in a desktop PC?
Generally, no. This is a registered ECC DIMM, and standard consumer desktop motherboards accept only unbuffered memory. They will typically fail to boot with an RDIMM installed. The module is intended for server and workstation platforms whose memory controllers support registered DDR4. That includes Intel Xeon Scalable systems and other platforms that explicitly list RDIMM support.
What is the advantage of a single-rank 32GB module?
A single-rank 1Rx4 module puts less electrical load on the memory channel than a dual-rank module of the same capacity. On platforms that limit total ranks per channel, or that reduce speed as more ranks are added, this makes it easier to populate more slots at full speed. Some workloads gain slightly from the rank interleaving that dual-rank modules provide, so the best choice depends on your platform.
What voltage and pin count does this module use?
The module uses the standard 288-pin DDR4 DIMM form factor and operates at the JEDEC DDR4 standard voltage of 1.2V. It is notched for DDR4 slots only. It will not physically fit DDR3 or DDR5 sockets, which use different pin counts and key positions.
What does refurbished mean at ServerDove?
Off-lease or decommissioned enterprise hardware that we clean, test and reset in Doha. Every unit goes through POST, burn-in, memory and drive checks and a power-supply check, with firmware and BIOS returned to defaults and drives securely erased.
Can I ask about the exact unit before I buy?
Yes. Message us the SKU on WhatsApp and we will confirm the condition and configuration of the unit in stock, with photos if you want them.

Why buy refurbished
Enterprise hardware, tested in Doha, at a fraction of the price of new
Every unit we sell has already proven itself in a data centre. We test it again, grade it, and back it with a warranty before it leaves our stock.
Tested before it ships
POST, burn-in, memory and power-supply checks on every unit. Anything that fails is repaired or pulled from stock, not sold.
Same performance, lower cost
A Xeon runs the same workloads whether it is new or two years old. Spend the difference on more CPUs, memory or storage.
In stock, not on order
New enterprise hardware can take weeks or months to arrive. Ours is on the shelf in Doha and delivered across Qatar within a day.
Warranty and local support
Every unit is covered. Installation, configuration and hardware support are handled by our own team in Qatar, not a call centre abroad.
