HPE part 723594-001 is the 500W Flex Slot power supply of the ProLiant Gen9 generation, rated 80 Plus Platinum and built for hot-plug redundant operation in the Flex Slot bays of the DL360 Gen9 and DL380 Gen9. It is the supply most Gen9 servers shipped with in their standard configurations, adequate for two mid-range processors and a modest drive set. It is refurbished. Buyers in Qatar use 723594-001 to replace a failed Gen9 supply like for like, to add the second unit for redundancy, or to complete a Gen9 barebone chassis. Specification
Flex Slot supplies of different wattage share the same bay, so a server that outgrows 500W can move to the 800W part by swapping both units; a mixed pair of 500W and 800W runs in a mismatched state that iLO reports. For a 1U DL360 Gen9 with two 85W to 120W processors and eight drives, 500W is ample. The unit accepts 100 to 240V input and runs at around 94 percent efficiency at typical load.
Installation
Replace a failed unit with the server running if a second healthy supply is fitted: disconnect the cord, press the release latch, pull the old supply, slide this one in until it clicks and reconnect the cord; the LED turns green and iLO reports two supplies. On a single supply server, shut down first. No tools are required, and a C13 cord is needed but not included.
